The role of the Link Worker is to deliver support sessions, groups and carers’ assessments to adult carers who live in Salford. Whether the support sessions be in person, out in the community or via phone or video call – it is the role of the Link Worker to provide meaningful and creative support to carers of all ages and backgrounds using the service.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment, for people living with hepatitis C.

Working alongside our MBLR Programme Manager, the person appointed will undertake a variety of tasks that include communications, grants administration and providing support to the resident led MBLR Partnership.

Working to implement our communications plan via established communication channels, you will be responsible for managing the partnership’s newsletters, social media and the MBLR website. You will also aid the MBLR Programme Manager with the administration of our Community Grants programme.

What you’ll be doing? 

This role has been developed to work within a specific Lambeth Primary Care Network (PCN) to support their older population access the right support and services that they need to live and age well. This is a new post, and the successful candidate will be key to ensuring the development of new partnerships and local relationships to support Lambeth’s ambitions to ensure older residents can live and age well. Your main responsibilities will be:

• Undertake mapping of the local community, using existing Age UK Lambeth knowledge and resources and creating new tools for this project to identify services and support available to older adults.

• Focus mapping exercise on identifying community interventions that will address health inequalities and improve wellbeing for older adults. 

• Using Age UK Lambeth Guides as a template, develop a specific, local guide/ directory for this project. 

• Organise, facilitate and deliver training sessions to PCN staff on how to use the guide, developing and building their understanding on local resources and provision in the local area.

• Network to identify new services and community groups to be included within the service guide.

The Senior Volunteering Officer will help us to explore and develop new approaches to volunteering within the NHS. This role is focused on supporting our volunteers that are based within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust services across the North West London Community and to develop new volunteering roles that focus on health challenges within the community.

Job Purpose 

The purpose of this role is to provide operational support to CAVA’s Health and Wellbeing Manager to support the delivery of the community engagement aspect of the REN Workplan which is identified through the REN Working/Steering Group. The post holder will be responsible for supporting Working and Steering Group meetings, attending REN events on behalf of CAVA and taking a proactive role in gathering examples of good practice and sharing outcomes and impact with stakeholders. This role will support engagement with communities throughout Coventry and Warwickshire by supporting delivery of in-person engagement events and support the recruitment of, and support related to, Volunteer Community Research Champions who play a vital and central role within this scope of work.

• Support organisation and delivery of in-person engagement events for the REN work
• Support the REN Working and Steering Groups with communications and marketing activities with various stakeholders (including with: VCFSEs; potential and existing volunteer Community Research Champions; updates to funders; and for various communication channels of the ICS)

• Support the team with gathering intelligence, and liaising with VCFSEs about capturing and sharing in an Engagements and Insights Atlas the research opportunities and learnings from across Coventry and Warwickshire

Employment Details

Contract type

This contracted post is fixed term until March 2025 with the possibility of extension and is 35 hours per week.  We welcome application for flexible working including reduced hours and other flexible working arrangements.

Location

The post holder will be mostly based across East London.

Salary 

Between £28,840 and £31,930 Plus 5% employer pension contribution.

We have recently introduced a salary bands system. This salary range refers to the lowest and top steps of the grade. Salary will progress every year until the top salary is reached.

Holiday entitlement

25 days (pro-rata for contracted hours) of paid holiday per year plus bank holidays. This increases after two years of service to 27 days, and then a further one day per every year of service up to a maximum of 30 days after five years of service. In addition, all employees are entitled to one day off on (or around) their Birthday.

Conditions of employment

The job offer is subject to the receipt of two satisfactory Employment References, an enhanced  DBS Check and evidence of relevant Qualification.

If so, St Giles is looking for a Community Violence Mentor to work on our CIRV programme, where you will provide intensive and holistic wraparound mentoring to help prevent and divert clients engaged in or thought to be at risk of involvement in gang and youth violence.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will engage and support young people, adults and families once they have been identified as being involved in a violence-related incident, being at risk of exploitation or gang affiliated, plus build positive relationships with the clients and their families.  You will produce risk management plans based on assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process, and deliver a holistic service to each client, providing practical help that will include social and housing support, engagement with education, training and employment options.

You will also be expected to work in collaboration with the wider CIRV team to access support and bring about change in the client group, and to work closely with the Evaluation team, while also providing practical advice to professionals who come into contact with your clients who are involved, suspected or at risk of being exploited through gangs.

What we are looking for

• Relevant direct or indirect experience of the criminal justice system
• Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people
• Proven track record of negotiating with partner agencies to establish links to further the aims of a project
• Experience of working to targets and recording information and statistics to enable effective monitoring of performance against targets
• Knowledge of the particular drivers and risks associated with gang involvement and youth violence across Coventry or Wolverhampton
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written.
